Sea Rescue (NSRI) is the charity that saves lives on South African waters. We have 31 rescue bases around the coast and 5 bases are on inland dams. Our rescue bases are run by over 1 000 highly skilled, unpaid volunteers who are on standby day and night throughout the year. We enjoy a good working relationship with other emergency services and we believe that it is through team effort that lives are saved.
Our primary concern is safety and one of our key outputs is training and development. BravoBravo takes our internal sea rescue curriculum and packages it into tailor made online courses for the public. Our intention is to share information in a dynamic environment and a number of our courses are offered at no charge.
